Appellation
The Paso Robles American Viticultural Area (AVA) and San Juan Creek District American Viticultural Area (AVA). San Juan Creek District AVA was established in 2014 along with the other 10 districts within Paso Robles AVA.
Physical Location
San Juan Creek Vineyard is located on the Central Coast of California in Shandon, CA about 15 miles east of Paso Robles.
Paso Robles has fueled growth of California's super-premium wines in recent years, becoming the fastest-growing wine region in California and gaining recognition among key trade gatekeepers and consumers as a world-class Cabernet Sauvignon growing region.
Topography
This property is one contiguous parcel located on Truesdale Rd. in Shandon, California. Topography consists of both rolling hills and relatively flat terrain at an elevation of 1,270 feet with highest point at 1,350 feet.
Ancillary land is generally located toward the southern end of the property.
Climate
San Juan Creek can get exceptionally warm during the the summer, although the nights still get quite cool with an average diurnal temperature swing of 25 - 50 degrees Fahrenheit. This climate is ideal for growing world class Bordeaux varieties.
Soils
The San Ysidro series and The San Emigdio series consists of very deep, moderately well drained soils that formed in alluvium from sedimentary rocks.

Water
Water is provided by two new agriculture wells and part of the Shandon- San Juan Water District ("SSJWD"). The SSJWD represents landowners in the Shandon area at the local and state levels and serves as the representative Groundwater Sustainability Agency under SGMA requirements.
